

Melanie’s technical experience is broad-ranging, from research at the Agricultural and Wine Science School at Charles Sturt University to being a food scientist in the pet care industry. She practice spans several areas of technology, including including chemistry, agriculture and veterinary husbandry, medical and veterinary science, and mechanical inventions.

Melanie advises clients working in a number of industries and has prosecuted Australian and overseas patent applications. Her practice includes design registrations and trade marks.

Melanie worked at Mars Petcare Australia for nearly 17 years in various research and development roles and as part of the in-house intellectual property team where she provided IP support and guidance to the research and development teams. She commenced her career as a patent and trade mark attorney at Hopgood Ganim Lawyers and then Kings Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys prior to joining Foundry IP in 2023.

In her spare time, Melanie is a Cub and Scout leader at Sandgate Scout Group working with 8 to 15 year olds.
